The development of science and technology is certainly inseparable from the role of higher education as an institution that functions to carry out the functions of education and teaching to the community. However, the existence of a tertiary institution today is not only measured by its ability to carry out a quality teaching and learning process, but also measured by its ability to produce research outputs that can be published in reputable international journals and proceedings, and the number of international collaborations that are running effectively. One of the steps that is quite effective in producing international-scale research outputs is through the implementation of international scientific forums in collaboration with several domestic and foreign universities.
As an institution providing higher education that has implemented the tri-dharma consistently, Mercu Buana University (UMB) of course also requires the presence of forums for disseminating scientific papers on an international scale. These forums are expected to be useful as a medium for disseminating new findings from research by UMB lecturers, students and researchers and other universities from various parts of the world. In addition, these scientific forums can also become a venue for establishing research collaborations between UMB researchers and foreign researchers in developing higher quality research capacities and outputs. So that it will strengthen the capacity of UMB researchers and strengthen the UMB internationalization process.
In order to be able to organize international conferences properly and to be able to produce output in the form of publication texts that are published in reputable international proceedings, the Publication Section – LPPM took the initiative to organize international scale conferences by bringing in speakers who are experienced in their fields of expertise. The hope is that by organizing international conferences and the output of reputable international proceedings, it can increase the capacity and competence of lecturers, students and researchers in the UMB environment so that they can compete with foreign researchers, and can create innovations in the development of science and technology in accordance with their scientific fields.
